For the first time we made a mark in games too. The girls’ team won the Throw ball Tournament at BEL.CBSE School and boys secured III Place in Table Tennis Tournament in Vijayawada.

The school decided not to have textbooks environmental Sciences up to class III. Instead graded activities, worksheets and projects were introduced.

The school did away with tests and exams upto Class II. The testing process started in class III with one test and one examination.

 

 

 

 

Diagnostics tests and remedial teaching are important factors in the teaching learning process. A Resource Center became operational in October 1998.

In the year 2000, we had an occasion to express our concern to the Kargil Martyrs. The fifteen feet card the students made, had messages for those who were protecting our frontiers. The students, staff and management contributed generously. The Chairman presented a cheque of Rs 1,11,00/- and the card to Col. P.M. Bhat, II in command of Karnataka, Kerala and Goa Sub Area.

Students were encouraged to distribute Eye donation forms and collect funds to help blind children in order to install a sense of social responsibility in their young minds.

1991 was a memorable year in the history of the school as it was the Decennial Year.

sjc6The Charter presentation of the Interact Club of the school in 1992 marked the beginning of the functioning of the Interact Club. The Interactors began the tradition of collection and distribution of fruits to the poor and the needy to commemorate the birthday of Sri Sadhu Vaswani on 25th November.

    Sindhi High School was started in the year 7th June 1982 with a strength of 163 students and Sindhi Seva Samiti crossed a milestone in the long journey of this institution with the completion of the first academic year in the year 1983. This Institution primarily aimed at cultivation the fine qualities of life in the young children and believed in shaping the attitudes, feelings and desire of the young minds so that they may have more peace, joy and fortitude.

    H.H. Vibhudisha Tirtha Swamiji of Poorna Pragna Education Centre, Bangalore inaugurated the school on 7th June 1982. The School started with classes from nursery to standard II.
  • The No Objection Certificate from the State Government was secured to affiliated the school to CBSE, New Delhi. Affiliation by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, was granted to the School in the year 1983.

    Revision of pay scale of the teaching staff is done in June 1984 as per the Government Rules and Regulations.
  • sjc3House system was introduced to inculcate the spirit of healthy competition, loyalty to a group and nurture talents if students, Pupils of all classes were divided into 4 houses, Viz, Sadhu Vaswani, Tagore, Sarder Patel and Visvesvaraya. Each house was represented by a flag of specific color and guided by a House Mistress.
  • bul-bul-flockBul Bul Flock was introduced as one of the co-curricular activities for girls.
  • The school had classes up to Class VII with strength of 472. The school was equipped with necessary laboratory equipments, large number of books in the library and teaching aid equipments.

With the introduction of class IX, the strength of the school increased to 570. Free uniforms and books were given to the deserving students.

    Sri H.D. Deve Gowda, former Prime Minister, presented over the annual day programme and distributed the prizes to the students for excelling in academics.

    To inculcate a healthy spirit of competition, rolling trophies were sponsored. The following are the names of the trophies and their sponsors:

    • Best House in Athletics sponsored by Sri Biharilal Nebhands.

    The first of our Magazine ‘Sindhi Jyothi’ was released.

    The school became a full fledged high school with the commencement of class X in 1986 and the strength increased to 665.

    The school building was gully equipped with 3 separate laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

    It was a matter of great pride when the school acquired the adjoining plot as a part of our expansion programme.

    The first batch of std X took the All India secondary School Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi in the academic year 1987-88 and secured cent percent results. The pupils qualified amongst the top 12% of the All India Students’ Body that appeared for the Examination hailing from 2400 CBSE schools across the country.

There has been flurry of activities beginning with the Walkathon promoting Eye Donation on 29th july 2007 and Lane Discipline Awarness programme between July 31st & 7th August. The Broadway Musical – Orphan Annie on 21 & 22 Dec 2006 was a runaway hit with the students and parents alike. The Jubilee carnival on the 7th June 2007 was in commeoration of the 25th Birthday of Sindhi High School, KK Road. The grand finale of the year long celebrations will conclude with the musical extracaganza Silver Symphony on 07-07-07

    Its my privialge to have associated with this great Instututions in various capacities, more so as the Hon. Secretary during this significant year. Its my earnest wish to see the school scaling greater heights and crossing many more milestones. God be with all the nobles souls associated with this Institutions.

The recipients of this prestigious award will get a cash prize, a cup and a rolling trophy.

    The computer lab was shifted to bigger premises for better working atmosphere. A long awaited dream came true for many Sindhians when we commenced class XI on 17th June 2002.

    sjc9As a part of the Little Eco Friends our students participated in programme sponsored by the Volvo International. Their projects on ‘Creating Awareness against the use of Ploy bags’ won the I Place in the national finals and were selected to participated in the International Competition at Sweden on 23rd September 2002.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Tree planting was the main activity to mark the Independence Day Celebration.

    The principal Mrs. Mahalakshmi Vijaychand got the ‘Excellence Award and Gold Medal’, presented by the Institute of Economics Studies for her eminence in Education.

    2003, saw the extension of the Institution. MISSION HEBBAL was completed and Sindhi High School and Sindhi College at Hebbal, Kempapura was inaugurated by the then Deputy Prime Minister Sri. L.K. Advani.

    Ari Ashok Ganguly, Chairman, Central Board of Secondary Education inaugurated the Math Lab. The Karnataka Fire and Emergency Services demonstrated an ‘Evacuation and Fire safety Drill’.

    sjc11  A Pakistani Cultural Delegation visited the Sindhi Group of Institutions and had a very interesting interaction with student representatives.
